He is in the Waiting

In the midst of life's hurried rhythms, it's easy to overlook the profound lessons that emerge when we're in a season of waiting. Waiting for a dream to materialize, waiting for a prayer to be answered, or simply waiting for direction in life can be an agonizing process. Yet, there's a transformative beauty in these moments when we learn to cling to God, trusting His divine timing.

In Lamentations 3:25, we find the words of Jeremiah, "The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." These words are a poignant reminder that in our seasons of waiting, God's goodness surrounds us, even when our circumstances seem uncertain.

The Wilderness of Waiting

Waiting often feels like wandering through a wilderness. It's a place where your patience is tested, and doubts can creep in. It's in these moments that we must remember that God is not distant; He's walking with us through the desert, guiding our steps. I love the passage in Isaiah 41:13 “For I hold you by your right hand— I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” What a beautiful reminder that we are never waiting alone.

Clinging to God's Character

When we cling to God during times of waiting, we're not merely holding on to an abstract hope. We're clinging to the very character of God—His faithfulness, His wisdom, and His love. It's in our waiting that we learn to lean on these attributes, knowing that He will never forsake us. As we remind ourselves of the unchanging character of the Father, we can confidently cling to his faithfulness.

Refining in the Waiting

Waiting seasons are often opportunities for refinement. They teach us endurance, humility, and the beauty of surrender. We may not always understand why we're waiting, in fact many times the reason never shows up until the waiting has ended, but we can trust that God is using this time to mold us into the people He designed us to be. (Jeremiah 18:4-6) If we choose to trust the Potter and allow Him remake us into what we are called to be, we will come out of the waiting refined and equipped to do what we were created to do.

The Sweetness of His Timing

As we cling to God in our waiting, we come to understand that His timing is perfect. What we perceive as delays may, in fact, be moments of preparation. When the answer finally arrives, it's sweeter because we waited with faith and trust.

Finding Strength in Prayer

During seasons of waiting, spending time in prayer and meditating on God's Word becomes a lifeline. It's in these practices that we draw nearer to God, finding comfort, guidance, and reassurance. Maintaining the disciple of daily time in prayer and the Word are vital to being successful in times of waiting.

Embracing the Journey

In the end, our seasons of waiting are as much a part of our journey as the destination itself. They shape our character, deepen our faith, and strengthen our relationship with the Father.

So, if you find yourself in a season of waiting today, remember Lamentations 3:25, "The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." Cling to God in faith, seek His presence, and trust that His goodness surrounds you, even in the waiting. Your journey may be long, but God's love and faithfulness are unending.
